Who We Are

Meet Chris and Karol, the co-founders behind LUNI.AI. We both come from strong engineering and software development backgrounds and were co-owners of 11Sigma, a software agency that was partially acqui-hired, before diving into the mission of LUNI.AI. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege to work with startups across various sectors including APIs, telecom, sales, health, investing platforms, and insurance. This diverse experience has given us a panoramic view of the inefficiencies that afflict meetings across industries.

While we both share a deep-rooted passion for technology and problem-solving, we bring complementary skills to the table. Karol leans more towards operations, ensuring that the wheels keep turning smoothly. Chris, on the other hand, takes the lead on business, product development, and marketing, focusing on how LUNI.AI can solve real-world problems in the most effective way.

This blend of technical acumen, operational expertise, and business insight makes us a dynamic team, fully equipped to tackle the multidimensional challenges that organizations face in terms of productivity and well-being.

The Genesis of LUNI.AI

Our ambition for LUNI.AI wasn’t conceived in a vacuum. Rather, it was born out of a compelling need to rectify a problem we’ve all experienced—ineffective leadership and its subsequent impact on teams. Both of us have seen companies falter, not for a lack of talent or resources, but due to poor management. The toll this takes on team productivity and individual well-being is often irrevocable.

Seeing this pervasive issue, we were driven to create a tool that could not only improve team performance but also coach managers to be better leaders. With the advent of powerful AI technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs) and GPT-4 in late 2022, we saw an unprecedented opportunity to build solutions for problems that were previously insurmountable.

Armed with this technology and our vision, we dove into customer development interviews and market research. While we started with a broad scope, focusing on transforming organizations holistically, our interactions with potential users helped us realize the need for a more immediate solution. This led us to pivot towards meetings, an integral part of organizational culture, as our first point of focus. However, make no mistake—this is but the first step in a much larger journey to fulfill our original vision of transforming teams and their leaders.

The Journey So Far

Since February 2023, it’s been a whirlwind of activity for both of us. While our primary focus has been on LUNI.AI, we’ve also been involved in other AI-related projects, widening our scope and expertise in the domain. Our journey in building LUNI.AI has been one of continuous learning, experimentation, and adaptation. We’ve not only been testing different concepts but also laying down some serious foundational work.

Technologically, we’ve integrated our platform with Zoom, allowing us to sync with Zoom meetings in real-time. We’ve created an interactive meeting timeline that provides a clear and dynamic view of meeting progress. Leveraging LLMs, we’re able to extract insightful data from these meetings, which form the basis for our analytics and suggestions. On the design front, we’ve prepared a user interface that aims to be as intuitive as it is functional.

Our strategic efforts haven’t been lacking either. We’ve had multiple rounds of meetings with potential users, gathering invaluable feedback that has continuously informed our development process. Additionally, we’ve explored various funding options, although for now, we’re bootstrapping, investing our own time and money into making LUNI.AI a reality.

Being first-time product builders, every day is a learning experience for us. We’ve already pivoted twice in our journey, proving the age-old startup wisdom true: focus and specificity are invaluable, especially when resources are limited. That’s why we’ve narrowed down our target to what we’re most passionate about, all the while keeping an eye on the broader horizon.

As of now, we’re committed to working on LUNI.AI full-time. Despite the challenges, the progress we’ve made so far fuels our enthusiasm for the path ahead.
